A button which may be removed for garment laundering etc., has an anchorage and a hollow head. The anchorage has an arrow head (13) on a stalk (7) which projects centrally from a square base plate (R). The stalk passes through the fabric of a garment and an aperture (8) in the flat base (3) of the button. The arrow head is of greater dia. than the button aperture and thus, is forced in to lock in place. The button base may be bi-laminar (2, 3), the inner layer (2) having an aperture (12, 12') of lesser dia to effectively trap the arrow head (13). This inner layer is formed by a ring plate (10) with twin aligned radial tongues (11, 11') projecting inwards. A second hole (14) in the outer base layer (3) allows a rod to be inserted to deflect one of the tongues and release the arrow head (13) for button detachment.
|
