1471572 Vehicle washing installation A ROHE GmbH 8 July 1974 [9 July 1973] 30129/74 Heading B7J A vehicle washing installation includes a probe 5 sensing the contour of a vehicle to control the movement of a drying or spray nozzle. The probe 5 carries a roller 6 rolling over the surface of the vehicle, the probe being attached to a rectangular block 1 seated on a base-plate 22 between spaced side plates 4. The block 1 supports a shaft 9 engaged in triangular openings 8 in the side plates. Springs 10 attached to each end of the shaft are anchored to the foot of the side plates at 11. A pivoted lever 13 is pressed against the underside of the shaft by the spring-loaded plunger 15 of a switch 17. On deflection of the probe 5 by a vehicle, the block 1 moves against the action of springs 10 and within the limits imposed by engagement of the shaft 9 in the openings 8, the plunger 15 following the movement through the agency of lever 13. The latter operates the switch 17 controlling movement of a spray or drying nozzle. The probe may extend symmetrically each side of the block and carry a roller 6 at each end, Fig. 5 (not shown), a spray or drying nozzle being mounted on the underside of the base plate between the probe arms. |
