Before injection through a nozzle (16), the heavy fuel oil is heated to the required temperature, e.g. 120 DEG C, in a heat exchanger (12) which is in heat exchange with a combustion chamber of the heating device. The heat exchanger can have the form of a ring, in which a part (24, 26, 28) of the oil line is cast in. In order to prevent the oil being heated too greatly, the ring contains a cooling coil (32, 34). If the oil temperature rises above a predetermined value, a temperature sensor (38) on the oil outlet (28) brings about the opening of a valve (40) which regulates the quantity of coolant. It is consequently possible, in the case of heating the oil by the heat from the combustion chamber, to avoid overheating of the oil and to keep the oil temperature within a predetermined range. During non-use of the oil burner, a heating element (42) serves to keep the oil in the oil line hot. <IMAGE> |
