<p>Aq. lubricants and coolants for metal-working contg. thickner and hydrophilic, pref. water-soluble materials. The thickner is pref. a cellulose deriv., esp. methyl cellulose. The lubricants have no smell or allergic effects, and can be removed from metal surfaces by water-washing, without effluent disposal or pollution problems. They are non-flammable and can be used in existing equipment. Retention of tool sharpness, quality of cut and appearance of the metal surface are at least equal to conventional oil-based lubricants.</p> |
