<p>Engine has a cylindrical casing (11), and a rectangular plate (22) revolves on the axis of the cylinder dividing it into two halves. It carries two circular discs (33) at its ends which are perpendicular to it and to the cylinder axis and contain the inlet and discharge ports (12). A circular disc (44) is held across the cylinder at an angle to the cylinder axis. It can revolve in an inclined groove (6) in the cylinder wall and has a central slot through which the rectangular plate (22) passes. Rotation of the latter therefore causes rotation of the inclined disc in its guiding groove. The rotation of the plate and disc causes the spaces (7, 8, 9, 10) formed between them and the cylinder walls to vary in volume.</p> |
