<p>A video converter is used to convert video signals and adapt them to the visual display. It can produce a picture at a television standard from a picture at the same rate. The picture is formed by a train of pulses and has a number of lines equal at most to half the lines of the standard. The converter (1) interfaces between a video signal generator (2) and a video signal receiver (3). The generator (2) may be an infra-red camera and the receiver (3) a television monitor. The converter (1) has two random access memories (10, 11), two switching units (13, 14), a third switching unit (16) and a shift register (15). The shift register (15) consists of a charge coupled device. The third switching unit (16) is set at a rate according to the line frequency of the standard and the multiplication parameter required.</p> |
