Ultrasonic wave equipment for controlled hole drilling - has ultrasonic wave devices in reference holes to determine position of bit in drilled hole

The equipment is used for the controlled drilling of holes in metal plate. It uses ultra-sonic waves for the measurement of hole position. The equipment comprises two ultrasonic wave emitter-receiving devices inserted in two reference holes(2) of the plate(1). The reference holes (2) also have tubes(6) and ultra-sonic wave reflectors(9). The reflector(9) has a face at 45 degree to the axis of the holes. The ultra-sonic wave devices are connected to meters(13) which measure the distance between the devices and the drill(7). The meters(13) are connected to an alarm(14) to indicate when the hole being drilled is out-of-tolerance.
