Vertical item drying furnace - has curved guide surface for baskets at each chain pulley extending through alternation angle

The drying furnace is pref. of the vertical type and is for items such as cornices and mouldings etc. It has a conveyor transporting the items along a set course from a loading station via several horizontal passes one above the other in the drying chamber to the discharge station. The conveyor comprises a pair of endless parallel chains with baskets for the items between them at regular intervals. Each basket comprises a lengthwise member between the chains and a number of small bars protruding from its side in comb patterns. At each guide pulley where the chain changes direction is a curved guide and supporting surface extending through the same angle as the change of direction of the chain at this point, and which is engaged by a roller or chain on the basket.
