<p>The process produces liquid-filled wedge-shaped free-standing bag packages with base section and straight top seam. From a strip of packing material a hose (2) of rectangular section is formed, and welded at the forward end by a transverse seam. Material is continuously delivered into the hose in a column, and a further transverse seam (13) is formed and the unit parted off. Finally a head seam (46) is formed, dividing each unit into two sections, which are parted off from each other. The hose can be formed with two parallel sidewalls (3, 4) and two inwards folds (5, 6) at the sides, these being joined to the sidewall edges by weld seams.</p> |
