The loudspeakers perforated covering requires less material than previous coverings and provides a large total aperture cross sectional area. Whereas previous coverings have used matrices of either round or rectangular cross-section aperture, the covering proposed uses hexagonal ones. The hexagonal apertures (3) result in a total aperture cross section of at least 58% of the total covering area. The width of the section (4) between apertures is less than the material thickness.
