<p>The appliance for measuring the movement of a caged animal for experimental purposes, consists of a permanent magnet fixed so that it does not move onto the animal's body. The movements of the animal produce voltage pulses in an induction coil. The measurement compartment can be a container with solid walls, or be a cage. The induction coil is positioned in or on the parts of the container or cage. The coil can be subdivided into several part coils, which are situated in or around the measurement compartment. The part coils can be positioned on one and the same plate to form a measuring plate which can be increased by adding other part coils.</p> |
