Metal corner piece for double glazing - where corner piece is inserted in ends of hollow spacers used between glass panes

Corner piece bent at 90 degrees is used for joining two hollow spacers used between panes of glass in multiple glazing, e.g. in double glazing providing thermal insulation. The corner piece has a U-shaped cross-section, and the base of the "U" is on the inside of the piece. The corner piece is pref. made of metal and used inside hollow spacers possessing a rectangular cross-section with two chamfered corners. Both ends of the corner piece are pref. fitted with inclined flaps which project beyond the two sides of the U-section and have chamfers matching those on the hollow spacers. The desiccant or its dust employed to keep moisture out of the space between the panes cannot enter the corner piece; and an efficient seal can easily be made at the corners of the panes.
