1492649 Rolling tubes INNOCENTI SANTEUSTACCHIO SpA 13 March 1975 [22 March 1974] 10624/75 Heading B3M A mandrel assembly for a pilger rolling mill comprises a mandrel holder 1 which co-operates with the head 3 of a mandrel 2, and a sleeve 6 which is slidably carried on the mandrel between the holder and a workpiece tube 18. The sleeve has a pair of pins 14, 15 which project inwardly into slots 10 and 11 in the mandrel and limit relative axial movement between the sleeve and mandrel. Springs 23 also act between the sleeve and mandrel to resist such movement. When the tube 18 has been rolled, it is separated from the mandrel and sleeve 6 by withdrawing the holder to the left while an extraction plate 19 reacts against the end of the tube. |
