<p>The safety shut-off valve is intended for use with high temperature fluids or gases which may be injurious to health. The valve body is provided with internal thermal insulation and two valve seats. The valve heads are mounted on central guides attached to pistons. The pistons slide in cylinders attached to a central plate. The pressure of the actuating medium, which is higher than the valve upstream pressure, is admitted to the cylinders and pushes the heads onto the seats. The high pressure medium then fills the space between the valve heads increasing the pressure on the seats and preventing any leakage from the upstream fluid.</p> |
