Coal winning system formed from conveying pan sections combined with screw shaft sections with tooled webs for face cutting, with swivel joints between the pan sections and using the segment area cut by the tools to combine with the pans to form a conveying channel as in 2533518. The screw sections (7) dia. (D) is a fraction of the seam (F) thickness (M) and the screw sections (7) can adjust in height in relation to the main conveying pan sections (1). Pref. the screw sections (7) are carried on the conveyor pans (1) by means of two arm levers (15) which can be adjusted from their free end by a drive (21).
