The conveyor belt (11) is provided with an ejector arm (17) which diverts objects (12) onto an adjacent conveyor belt (14). One end of the arm (17) has a hinge connection (36) with a crank drive assembly (41-49), whilst the other end (33) pushes the objects (12) off the belt (11). The middle section of the arm (17) has an oblong slot (26) which provides a slide fit location for a fixed support stud (21). As the drive crank rotates, the pusher arm (17) obtains angular motion about its pivot location (42). At the same time, the crank arm (37) pushes the ejector arm (17) in an axial direction so that the arm is extended for the ejection movement.
