<p>The machine consists of a vehicle (10) with a gate-shaped chassis (11), on which is provided between the vehicle axles (12a, 13a) a vertically pivotable roller (20) which can be driven opposite to the direction of travel (F) and which extends over the width of the vehicle. Arranged at the axially outer ends of the said roller (20) are conveyor worms extending helically on the roller casing and having a direction of turn opposite to one another and, as seen from the end face of the roller (20), opposite to the direction of rotation (W) of the roller (20). Radially projecting shovel elements are located in the axially central roller region. In order to ensure that the turned compost is dumped again in its original heap form without additional aids, the shovel elements are fastened to the roller casing in the extension of the conveyor worms on helices guided as far as the middle of the roller. These helices have a pitch of 25 to 40 DEG relative to the radial plane. The roller (20) rotates at a speed of 400 to 600 revolutions per minute. <IMAGE></p> |
