The water closet has flushing arrangement with a collection tray able to rotate about a horizontal axis. This tray is rotated between a normal and a draining position. The lower open end of the flushing bowl is enclosed when they tray is in normal position. The smell trap is formed by the lower flushing bowl edge which projects into the collection tray and it has actuator for flushing arrangement and for tray. The collection tray (20) can be tilted about the axis (21) on the draining pipe (12) of the lavatory bolw (10). The tray is actuated from outside and the axis is situated in the region of the lower flushing bowl edge. The tray (20) is rotated by flushing handle (15) and it is held by a line (23) in the normal position.
