<p>Spectacle frames for greater comfort comprise one or more skin-contacting supporting portions, comprising one or more pads consisting of two plastic sheets welded together and enclosing a vol. of fluid is fractionated into several sub-compartments isolated from each other. The vol. of fluid is pref. fractionated by means of a flexible closed-cell plastic foam, pref. weldable PVC foam. The pad is mfd. by placing the layer of foam between the two sheets, and welding together the two sheets and the foam layer, with compression of the foam layer at the level of the welded seam. Escape of the fluid is thus prevented or greatly reduced. The use of foam does not reduce the comfortable feel of the frames, as the roughness of the foam is compensated by the flexible plastic sheet covering it.</p> |
