[Also in Division F1] In a pump (see Divisior F1), an extension 32 of the rotor is surrounded by an acid-resistant, wear pre ventive sleeve 35 forced against an acid-resistant seal 6 by a nut 7. A gasket (not shown) is arranged be tween the nut 7 and sleeve 35. Preferably, the thread between the nut and ex- .tension is sealed by acid resistant plastics tape After removal of pump cover 17 the assembly of rotor 31, extension 32 sleeve 35 and nut 7 can be removed by unscrewing a nut 10 from the nut 7, the nut 10 seating against a fixed shoulder 23 and thereby forcing the assembly to the left. The extension 32 is keyed at 9 to the shaft 8 and at 34 to the sleeve 3.5. The nut 10 is locked to the shaft 8 by a screw. 13. The nuts 7, 10 are tightened in a direction contrary to the direction of rotation of the shaft 8. The pitch of the thread between nuts 7 and 10 is greater than that between nut 7 and extension 32. Thus during pump operation, the nut 7 cannot slacken on the extension 32 on account of different pitches and the abutment between the extension and a shoulder 12 on the shaft 8. Rings 14 and 15 are split to permit their removal and thereby access to the nuts 7, 10 and screw 13. |
