<p>The parent patent described tyre carcasses involving a relatively inextensible fabric ply wrapped around the beads and enclosing two rubber pads, one of which had a hardness of 85-95 degrees Shore A and was fibre-filled, the other pad being unfilled and of an (unspecified) specific hardness. This addition specifies a hardness range of 70-95 degrees Shore A for the unfilled pad. The ranges for the ratios for n/H is extended to 0.55-0.95, and the ratio for m/H is defined to be 0.15-0.35, pref. 0.22-0.28. Further, this addition describes the section of inner, filled pad as tapering from a broad base adjacent to the bead to a peak radially higher up the side wall. The section of the second pad widens alongside the reducing section of the first pad and then narrows to a peak radially higher up the sidewall. Specifically, the carcass ply is made of aromatic polyamide fabric, laid with the cord axes at an angle of 15-60 degrees to the tangent to the bead rim.</p> |
