Selective herbicidal solns. for leguminous crops - contg. ammoniacal 4,6-di:nitro 2-sec.-butyl phenol at pH above 9

Herbicides containing ammoniacal 4,6-dinitro 2-sec butyl phenol (I) at a pH of at least 9, pref. at least 9.5, are new. Used for selective treatment of legumes, such as peas, beans, lucerne, clover etc. The higher pH renders the compositions more selective in their action. A typical composition contains 13-7kg 4,6-dinitro 2-sec butyl, 62-6kg methanol and 11.2kg NH4OH, 22 degrees Baume. This solution is diluted with water and sprayed at the rate of 0.6-1kg (I) per hectare.
