The Vincent-type rear wheel suspension for a motorcycle permits deflection both upwards and downwards of the mean point. A triangulated frame (4, 7, 11) swinging arm has the apex of the triangle at the top. A double frame is used, a strut each side parting from the single apex point (3) and meeting the fork (11) holding the rear wheel (9). This fork pivots (6) on the main frame at its other end. A suspension strut is fitted (3) to the apex point of the triangular frame, its upper end being attached to the main frame.
|
