The pallet transports workpieces between individual machining stations, its surface accommodating them being flat and with an adhesive coating. The adhesive layer is supported on an elastic sheet, typically or polyvinylchloride. The sheet can be mounted on the pallet with this layer outermost, and a further such layer can be provided on the other side of the sheet. Elastic material can also be provided on the sheet on the workpiece side. The design allows easy cleaning of accumulated dirt, merely by changing the elastic sheet.
