The beam current is suppressed when the receiver is switched off. The working point is adjusted by connection of a CRT control electrode to the wiper of a control resistor whose ends are connected to a positive and a negative DC voltage. There is a connection to the positive voltage (+U1) which contains a controllable electronic switch (10), to whose control electrode line frequency pulses are applied, so that the switch is blocked during the line forward sweep.
