The polyphase transformer has its windings connected star to star on a polyphase core. There are compensating windings on all core shanks, each having one or several open windings. All the open windings on the shanks are connected in series, as in 2630461. The additional open windings consist of strips, or webs, formed by several sections insulated from each other and divided axially. Each core shank is surrounded by axially divided sheet metal cover (2) as parallel open windings.
