<p>The reinforced concrete girder consists of a moulded concrete body in the form of a sole plate (1) of rectangular cross-section. The inside reinforcement consists of a number of stretched metal cables (2). Each cable consists of a group of wires or twisted steel cables and wound round each other spirally. Spaced out over the top surface are clamps (4). Each clamp (4) consists of a metal bar bent at a double right angle, with vertical arms (5) inserted into the concrete sole plate (1). The end (6) of each vertical arm (5) is bent at a right angle underneath one of the cables. The top arm (7) of each clamp (4) is horizontal and parallel to the sole plate (1).</p> |
