Homogeneous nonwoven sheets prodn. - using mixt. of high and low melting fibres, e.g. cellulosic and thermoplastic fibres

Non-woven rigid sheets are produced by preparing an intimate and homogenous mixt. of high melting textile fibres and low melting thermoplastic textile fibres, shaping the mixt. into a web which is then compressed and heated in a mould to a temp. higher than the m.pt. of the low melting fibres. The sheets may be used e.g. in the automobile industry. They are homogeneous.
