The valve is carried on a spindle which rotates and fits into bearings at each end. The upper bearing is a sleeve bearing which allows the spindle to pass through it so that a valve handle may be fitted. The valve is circular and has a domed face (5). The outer edge of the dome is conical (6). The core mates with the valve seat (1) which fits against the housing. The seat is held in position by a collar (14). The valve housing is fitted with a pipe flange (2A) which allows the passage of the valve to open.
