<p>The plant has a preheater (a) heated by fumes leaving a rotary drum furnace (d); and a second preheater (b) heated by fumes leaving a combustion chamber (c) located upstream of drum(d). The raw materials are partly heated in preheaters (a,b) and then flow through chamber (c) to drum (d). A boiler is heated by fumes leaving one of the preheaters, and possibly by air from the clinker cooler, to obtain stream driving a turbine. Fumes leaving the boiler and other preheater, and steam leaving the turbine at 1-5 bars, are used to dry the raw materials. The pref. plant includes a first dryer(e1) contg. tubes heated by the partly expanded steam leaving the turbine at 1-5 bars, and a second dryer(e2) using direct contact between the raw materials and fumes leaving the boiler and the other preheater. A large amt. of heat is made available for drying the raw materials while only causing a slight redn. in the energy produced by the turbine.</p> |
