Coupling for vehicle exhaust to fixed workshop exhaust - has magnetic coupling to part easily when excess force is applied

A clamp grips the exhaust of a vehicle. It consists of two arms hinged together with their ends forced towards each other by a spring. The ends carry pads which hold the exhaust pipe. The outer arm carries a metal annular ring. The fixed workshop exhaust pipe has a flange at its open end which carries a ring of permanent magnets. These attract and hold the metal ring and with it the clamp and engine exhaust pipe. If the vehicle is driven away while the clamp is closed the magnetic coupling parts without damage.
