<p>The traction fittings are designed to hold a wounded person on a stretcher. They include head straps and foot straps for mounting into U shaped head and foot attachments which fit onto corresponding ends of the stretcher. Each attachment can be a U-shaped bar with hooks on the cross piece, to pass through holes in the straps, and side pieces with clamps for attachment to the longitudinal stretcher frame members. The head strap has a band to fit around the forehead, with fasteners at the ends, and with two tensioning straps extending from it at right angles, with holes for the hooks on the head bar. The foot strap has a band to fit around the ankles, with two extensions. Similarly acting as tensioning straps with corresponding holes for the hooks on the foot bar.</p> |
