Swiss lever escapement of simplified manufacture, including a one-piece, thin, flat lever (1) of equal thickness throughout its body, so that it may be obtained through a blanking operation, plus a bending operation for the flirt. These two operations may moreover be carried out simultaneously with the same tool. The wheel (2) is flat and thicker than the lever in order to guarantee a degree of security of operation and in order that the overall moment of inertia of the escapement be substantially equal to that of a conventional Swiss lever escapement of equal size, so as to preserve its dynamic efficiency. <IMAGE>
