PURPOSE:To make it possible to drive a transformer by means of an inexpensive and low-sensitivity differential relay, by fitting a high voltage winding to one leg of a three-leg iron core, a primary winding to a second leg and a secondary winding to a third leg, and by increasing the residual voltage of the secondary winding over the normal value at the time of primary winding whort-circuit. CONSTITUTION:When lead lines F and F' of primary winding 12 are shortcircuited, excess current flows in the primary winding circuit, and the magnetic flux of the iron core leg is canceled by this current and becomes almost zero. This canceled magnetic flux of phi/2 shifts to the iron core leg of secondary winding 13, and the total magnetic flux of the secondary winding iron core become phi. Consequently, the residual voltage of the secondary winding becomes nearly twice as large as the normal value. By this voltage increasing action, it is made possible to use an inexpensive low-snsitivity differential relay.
|
