The sum blind uses leaves of vertical inter-articulating panels (6) which retract accordion fashion. It is mounted on fixed horizontal slotted box section rails (2) at the head and foot, and include ramp catches which secure each leaf in the retracted or fully open position. Bracket-mounted axles may secure the fixed leaf-ends to the rail, with axles at intermediate itner panel hinges sliding in the slot to provide guidage. The ramp catches may be formed by inverted 'L' section brackets (24) which are fixed (31) to the rail, the top horizontal flange (23) having an inverted 'V' section undulation or stop. The stop is engaged by a bar (19) of complementary section and which projects from the foot of the leading panel (6).
