<p>PURPOSE:To prevent the device from receiving bending load based on the weight of the rotary plate assemblies deposited with germs and eliminate the occurrence of insufficient strength and detrimental deflections by using the rotation which makes use of the buoyancy of air. CONSTITUTION:As operation progresses, germs deposit on the surfaces of assemblies 1 and the weights thereof increase and balance with the buoyancy of a hollow shaft 2 and therefore the in-liquid immersion depth of the assemblies 1 increases. Since germs have the nature of dislodging when they grow to a certain thickness, the weights of the assemblies 1 deposited with germs also maintain approximately constant weights with time. In this state, the diameter of the hollow shaft 2 is constant and therefore the buoyancy, i.e., upward load 15, is uniform in the axial direction. In addition, the rotary plate assemblies 1 are mounted distributively in the axial direction as well of the hollow shaft 2 and therefore the load occuring in their weights also become the downward distributed load 16 being uniform along the axial direction. Even more, this buoyancy and the weights balance and therefore the shaft hardly receives bending moment and no reaction 17 occurs in the supporting parts at both ends.</p> |
