PURPOSE:To compensate coloring of cell, make it colorless and improve the visibility of display by providing polarizing elements of the complementary color relation with the coloration hue of the liquid crystal cell on the outer surfaces of the liquid crystal cell. CONSTITUTION:In the liquid crystal cell formed by sealing the liquid crystal 13 compounded with dichromatic coloring members between transparent substrates 11, 12 provided respectively with transparent electrodes 141, 142 and disposing polarizing elements 161, 162 on both sides and a reflecting plate 17 on the back side, the polarizing elements having the color of the complementary color relation with the coloration hue of the liquid crystal cell (e.g., a blue color system when the liquid crystal cell shows a yellow color system) are used. |
