<p>Prodn. of solns. of alkaline orthophosphates effected by continuous neutralisation of thermic or wet process phosphoric acid in a single reaction vessel used for prepn. of polyphosphates e.g. sodium tripolyphosphate which is a basic material for the preparation of washing powders, liqs. etc. Process allows rigorous control of the ratio of acid to base to give the desired polyphosphate after calcination of the orthophosphate; in the past this control has usually necessitated batch processing or when a continuous process was employed has necessitated several (a cascade) reaction vessels.</p> |
