A ball and socket joint of the kind having the ball formed of two parts 4', 5' has the part 5' made of acetal resin and a lining 6' for the socket made of a polyamide plastics material. The thickness of the lining is increased towards the apex 13. A disc 7' of elastic material bears against the part 4' of the ball. The part 5' is injection moulded and is threaded on to an extension 12 of the pin 2. A disc 14 is beaded into the housing. In another embodiment the (Fig. 1 not shown) parts 4', 5' are reversed.
