PURPOSE:To reduce the electrostatic adhesion force between photoreceptor surface and transfer paper by installing a light source for lowering the potentials of the photoreceptor surface near a separating destaticizer. CONSTITUTION:A separating device 14 is constituted by being provided with one separating destaticizer 15 and a light source 16 which is disposed near the same and is capable of radiating light toward the photoreceptor 11 surface. When AC corona discharge voltage is applied to the separating destaticizer 15, a destaticizing effect is produced upon the transfer paper 13. However, there are many instances when destaticizing is not enough only with the separating destaticizer 15 depending upon environmental conditions and the differences in images patterns such as white and black ground parts and therefore, light is radiated from the light source 16 to the surface of the photoreceptor 11 from the transfer paper 13 back side in combination with the separating destaticizer 15, by which the surface potentials of the photoreceptor 11 may be lowered and sure destaticizing accomplished. In this way, the electrostatic adhesion force between the photoreceptor surface and transfer paper may be decreased. |
