PURPOSE:To multiplex optical fiber coupling inputs at low losses by specifying the semiconductor laser coupling fibers. CONSTITUTION:Coupling optical fibers 8, 9 which have the same numerical aperture as that of a communicating optical fiber 7 and whose core diameter is a fraction of that of said fiber are prepared. The coupling optical fibers 8, 9 are bundled and are butted and connected to the communicating optical fiber 7. Then, at the time when the light from a semoconductor laser 12 is transmitted to the communicating optical fiber 7 through lens systems 3, 4 and coupling optical fibers 8, 9, the photo coupling from the coupling fibers 8, 9 to the communicating fiber 7 is accomplished with virtually no losses because the numerical apertures of the both fibers 7-9 are the same and the core diameter is larger with the fiber 7. |
