<p>The two stroke engine comprises a fixed chamber connected to the carburettor for prem. compression. A hollow drive piston is fitted over this chamber, the piston reciprocating and driving external connecting rods at the side; these rods, in turn, drive the crank. The chamber has a suction valve in its head and has piston ring seals. The drive piston has an inlet valve in its head, passing directly into the firing chamber in the cylinder block. An exhaust valve is provided in the cylinder head, together with the exhaust system.</p> |
