The analog to digital converter connected to a comparator has a device to select the conversion error code with its control input connected to the output of synchronising pulse generator. Its data input is connected to the output of the comparator. This selection device includes a dealy unit connected to a logic AND gate with its output connected to the unit signal input of a flip-flop. This is followed by a second AND gate connected to a gate switch which is also connected at its output to a register which stores the conversion error code. The delay unit input forms the data input of the selection device. The multiple position output of the register is also the output of conversion error code.
