PURPOSE:To manufacture aqueous dispersion of olefin resin in an industrially advantageous manner, by supplying olefin resin continuously to a multiscrew extruder, kneading the same with heat, and then further kneading the olefin resin while continuously supplying an aqueous solution of partially saponified polyvinyl alcohol under pressure. CONSTITUTION:Olefin resin supplied from hopper 3 is formed into a semimolten state by the heat applied from heater 12 and by the shear force acted between screws 2, 2' and barrel 4 and also between the two screws 2 and 2' themselves, while it is carried from feed zone A to compression zone B of screws 2, 2'. Then, it is molten in metering zone C and thereafter discharged continuously from nozzle 5 as dispersion. Here, at the time when olefin resin is in its semimolten or molten state, an aqueous solution of partially saponified polyvinyl alcohol is supplied from more than one of liquid supply ports a1, a2, a3, so that they are mixed uniformly with rotation of screws 2, 2' and carried toward the nozzle 5. |
