PURPOSE:To obtain a captioned vessel lid excellent in aging property for deterioration of bonding, sealing porperty, tearing property and sanitary characteristics by a method wherein a molten resin is spread within a shell of the vessel and subsequently is formed into a shape of liner under a cooling condition. CONSTITUTION:A molten substance 4 of a thermoplastic resin (preferable to be low density polyethylene or the like containing a lubricant) is situated within a shell 1 of a metallic vessel lid having preferably a wide opening, and is pressed by a mold lubricant substance layer 6 kept at a high temperature by a heater 2 and a punch 5 having shoulderlike notched portion 7 to spread it on an inner surface of the shell for the vessel lid. Subsequently, the spread molten substance is embossed by a cooled embossing die 11 having a cooling mechanism 14 and a sleeve 12 to form a liner 13 wherein a peripheral portion 16 for sealing is preferably thicker than a central portion thereof and the lubricant is distributed on the surface of said peripheral portion much more than the other portions thereof. |
