Socketed pipe joint sealing ring - has two supporting lips extending from circular cross=section

The sealing ring of elastomer material is of circular cross- section and for use in socketed pipe joints. Two supporting lips are formed on the circular cross-section, having a length of at least 4mm, and preferably equal to 0.25 times the thickness of the ring. Their mean thickness is at least 1.5mm., preferably 2to 5mm. The lips are arranged in a V-pattern, the angle between them being 70 to 110 and preferably 90 deg.
