PURPOSE:To effectively prevent influence of ultraviolet rays without affecting other photographic characteristics, by adding a specified ultraviolet absorber to one or more layers. CONSTITUTION:A compound represented by the formula in which R<1>-R<4> are H, alkyl, or aryl; R<5>, R<6> are H, alkyl, or aryl; and G is an electron attractive group is contained in one or more emulsion layers, such as a silver halide emulsion layer, preferably in a surface protective layer or a blue sensitive silver halide emulsion layer. An amount of said compound coated on one layer is >=0.01mg/dm<2>. Two or more kinds of these ultraviolet absorbers may be added. Addition of these compounds prevents the influence od ultraviolet rays, and moreover, rise of emulsion viscosity and wrinkling in drying and developing often caused by use of conventional ultraviolet absorbers. It does not unfavorably affect sensitivity or the like, too. |
