PURPOSE:To provide a metallizing material excellent in wear resistance, by mixing metallic powder with molybdenum disulfide coated with metallic powder. CONSTITUTION:This metallizing material forms a layer on the surface of a metal to be worked, the layer which has different property from that of the metal to be worked, and is composed of metallic powder and molybdenum disulfide coated with a metal. As the metallic powder is used e.g. steel, cast iron, or aluminum-silicon alloy etc. As the metal which coats the molybdenum disulfide is used a metal that forms solid soln. with said metal, or that metallically unites with said metal by eutectic crystal formation etc., in addition, that has preferably similar degree of hardness. Molybdenum disulfide and the coating metal don't react with, or dissolve, to the each other. Most preferably, the metallic powder is copper or copper alloy powder, and the coating metal is copper or copper alloy. Use of these preferable metal or alloy allows to disperse molybdenum disulfide uniformly, and metallized layer having excellent wear resistance, galling resistance, self-lubricating property is obtained. |
