The panel comprises several layers (A,B,C) of relatively thick boards (1-6) superimposed on each other. These layers are bonded together by an adhesive (7) to form a composite. Each board is joined to its neighbour in the same layer by tongued and grooved joints, adhesive being used for bonding. Each layer is placed onto the one above so that the grain of the wood comprising it is at right angles to the grain of the layer below and above. If required, the thicknesses of the various layers can differ.
