PURPOSE:To arrange so that heat near a suction valve may be exchanged with a sucked air through a heat pipe and the surrounding area of a suction valve may be cooled, by protruding the other end of a heat pipe whose tip is buried near the center of a cylinder head into a suction passage. CONSTITUTION:For a 4-cycle engine equipped with two pieces each of a suction valve 1 and an exhaust valve 2 on each cylinder, one tip of a heat pipe 10 is introduced and imbedded in the neighborhood of a spark plug 8 provided in the center of a cylinder head 3 and the other tip if positioned in such manner that it finds its way out into a suction passage 11 for a suction pipe 5, running through a wall between two suction ports 4. As a result, heat in the center of a cylinder head 3 and in the ambient area of a suction valve 1 which become extremely hot during the action of an engine is transferred to the suction passage 11 via the heat pipe 10, so that a cool suction gas inside the suction passage 11 is exchanged with heat. Thus it is possible to cool the neighborhood of the suction valve 11. |
